As a working mum things can get very busy. Always attending to other people’s needs first before your own. Whether it’s your children, your partner, your job, business or your home.
I know that I never put myself first, even when I needed to, and that’s why I learnt the hard way.
I suffered from stress, anxiety and even burn out, spending days in bed, where I could do nothing for anyone, let alone myself. You see I’m a giver, I give, give, give and then I have nothing left for me. My tank was running on empty, actually, it was barely running.
It was when I started practising yoga I realised I had to be the priority in my life. Well, it was my life right? I realised that I have to fill my cup first before I could give to others. I needed to slow down, eat well and exercise on a regular basis.
I also needed to enjoy life and do the things I loved, this also meant spending time with just me – that quiet time where I could indulge in me.

Do I need to be practising yoga before I come to your one day retreat?
No Kundalini Yoga is suitable for anyone, even the complete beginner, that is unless your GP has advised you not to exercise. Everyone will have mixed abilities and range of movement, you are advised to go at your own pace and listen to your body.
Does it matter how old I am?
No, Kundalini yoga is suitable for any age, there are people still practising at the age of 90. Children over the age of 14 can attend with a parent or guardian.
What do I wear?
Make sure you wear clothing that is comfortable and easy to move in, you need to make sure that it doesn’t restrict your movement. In Kundalini yoga we wear white to expand our aura. Feel free to experiment with what feels good to you.
I have no idea how to draw or paint, can I still come?
Yes, the art workshop is an opportunity to get creative. You don’t need to have any experience at all.
What do I bring?
Yoga mat or towel, a bottle of water, notepad and pen, small cushion if needed for sitting and a small blanket or shawl for relaxation. I have a limited number of spare mats if required.
I have dietary requirements, can the venue provide for me?
They can cater for gluten-free, vegan diet. If there is anything more specific please contact me and I shall find out for you.
Please note, do not eat a heavy meal before class, please allow 1 1/2 – 2 hours for food to digest.
